1. Do Make it about your beautiful face, not just the beautiful makeup on it.
When you are picking your wedding makeup think about your face features that you want to bring out. Your eyes, cheek bones, lips, etc. I think sometimes we see all these amazing photos on Pinterest or watch all the makeup tutorials on Youtube and we want THAT look, but it isn’t always the best look for your best features. 

2. Don’t Contour with blush
Contours are meant to look like shadows on your face. Shadows are not pink! SO instead of creating a shadow it kind of just creates a pink stripe. 

3. Have a pre-wedding appointment
I can’t stress this enough! If you are using a pro have a test run a few weeks before the wedding. Let him or her know what you like and don’t like about your makeup and be sure to take some photos to use as a reference for your wedding day so your artist is sure to remember it clearly. It will also help know if it looks good in photos as well as in person.

4. Don’t make any drastic changes too close to the wedding day
Spray tans, Brow waxes/microblading, invasive facials or new products should all be tested at LEAST once a few weeks before the big day. Trying these things too close to the wedding can lead to a wedding day crisis. 

5. Pack on those gorgeous lashes
If there’s ever a day to spend some time adding lashes, your wedding day is that day!! They photography beautifully and add definition to your eyes without looking like heavy makeup and really open your eyes.

6. Bring your lip color along
There’s no way that lipstick is going to last during all the festivities, be sure to have your own on hand for touch ups. A fresh lip color really adds a lot to photos.

7. Waterproof mascara is a must!
Waterproof mascara can be a little hard on lashes but for this one day, it’s a must! There will probably be some tears shed and you don’t want your mascara running down your face. You also might want to pass this tip along to your mom.

8. Set that foundation
If you are oily you’ll want to set with a good setting powder. If you are more on the dry side use a setting spray instead.

9. Look like you!
Heavy makeup that you don’t usually wear is one of those things that might make you feel really special but might leave you wondering who that is in your wedding photos when you’re looking back at those memories. We all love the way YOU look!!

10. Bring a touch up Kit
Now depending on your skin type, the weather, the climate, etc. your makeup might not stay put all day long. It would be a smart idea to have a bridesmaid hold on to a small touch up kit for you just in case you need to do a small touch up on your foundation or your lips.
